In the 1920s many new forms of entertainment became available. Picture shows and basic black and white movies were now available to the public and with the war over people had more time to spend on themselves. Jazz had spread from the southern states to all of America influencing Canada as well some of the most famous Jazz musicians such as Louis Armstrong. Many new forms of dancing were created and reflected the feelings of this new generation. The older generations felt that these new dances were too provocative. The famous Charleston was almost banned in some cities but it was so popular that trying to remove it from our culture became almost impossible. Finally more plays were being performed and shows girls became more popular, soon they were preforming all over north America and some became household names such as Josephine Baker.
