Dance
By the 1920's Americans were sick of war, and because women weren't working in factories anymore they had lots of extra time to do activities such as dancing and preforming.
Jazz had spread across America and Canada and was adopted by white musicians making it very popular everywhere. With the birth of this music came many new dances including, Foxtrot, the Lindy hop, Tangos, Camel Walks, the Charleston and even Square dances. All of these dances were strongly opposed by the older generations.
The Charleston
The Charleson was a very popular dance in the 1920's, it was a quick dance that involved throwing your legs and arms. The dance was very versatile and could be done in partners, solo or as a group. The dance swept the world, soon every western nation was under the dance craze. Many of people in older generations didn't approve of this new dance but the Charleston was here to stay.
